Host your files and images for free on ImageHost.org! Go ahead and upload any file you want up to 100 MB in size. After uploading a file you'll get codes which you can use to link to your file from forums, blogs or any site you like. Frequently Asked Questions What is ImageHost.org? ImageHost.org is a free file and image hosting service. You can use our service to upload files and then link to them on forums, auctions, blogs or your personal website for free. How does it work? Just visit the front page (for example by clicking on the ImageHost.org logo on top of the page), select a file you want to upload using the Browse button and click Upload. After your file has been successfully uploaded several links will be shown which you can use on forums, auction websites, blogs etc. Is hotlinking allowed? Yes, hotlinking is allowed for certain file types. You may hotlink to JPG, GIF and PNG images as well as SWF (Flash) files up to 1 MB in size. You may also hotlink to FLV (Flash Video) files up to 10 MB in size (though you may want to do so through a flash player like JW Media Player). Use only the links provided after upload. What file types are allowed? You may upload any kind of file: there are no restrictions. Some files (like PHP scripts) may be automatically stored inside ZIP archives for security reasons. The contents of the file will not be altered in that case. What is the file size limit? The maximum size of all files you can upload is 100 MB. Please note that this limit applies to all files combined. So you can either upload one file up to 100 MB in size, or upload several files whose combined size is 100 MB or less.
Is my file altered in any way after uploading? Your files are not altered after upload. For certain types of files (like BMP files) a JPG preview image is generated. But in those cases you can always still download the original file. The only exception are FLV (Flash Video) files, which are run through a tool to prepare them for online streaming. Only the file structure is slightly altered in such case, the contents of the actual video remains unchanged. Can I upload multiple files at a time? Yes, just click the small More link just below the file selection box. I uploaded a video but I can't view it online. Why? Any video you want to be able to view online through ImageHost.org needs to be uploaded in FLV (Flash Video) format. Unlike other video upload sites, the video conversion is not done for you. However the advantage of manual conversion is that you have full control over the conversion (resolution, bitrate, etc). You can convert video to FLV (Flash Video) format with free tools like Riva FLV Encoder or mencoder (part of the MPlayer package). Please note that ImageHost.org will not assist you with the video conversion. If you need help, find related forums or websites that might help you, like VideoHelp.com. If I upload a FLV (Flash Video) file do I need to prepare it for streaming? No, this is done automatically after uploading. Note that this only slightly alters the file structure, the contents of the actual video remains unchanged. Why are the download links not working? The anti-hotlinking protection system used on files you are not allowed to hotlink to uses links which expire after 4 hours. Please make sure you always get a fresh download link from our site through the links provided. If you did this and it still doesn't work, try refreshing the page or clearing your browser cache. If you were not able to download the file within 4 hours, just grab a fresh download link and replace the URL in your download manager. As the file will not have changed, your download manager should be able to resume using the new link. When will my file be deleted? Your files will not be deleted unless they are not accessed for a certain period. Files under 1 MB will be deleted after 180 days of inactivity, files between 1 MB and 20 MB will be deleted after 90 days of inactivity and files above 20 MB will be deleted after 30 days of inactivity. Are there any bandwidth limits? There are no automatic bandwidth limits. However we reserve the right to delete any file we feel is using excessive bandwidth in order to maintain the quality of the service for everyone. How do I delete a file? Unfortunately there is no way of deleting files as of yet. If you do not care about the file you uploaded, just leave it: it will be deleted after a certain period of inactivity anyway.
